Clouds create the drama in paintings. This storm off Trundy Point, in Cape Elizabeth, had just passed over the land and dropped it's rain in a quick, hard, downpour. Then the clouds moved out to sea and the sun shone brightly, the sky was blue. Clouds are atmosphere, moving and changing shape and color. As I paint, I try and capture how the cloud is shaped with color. How the edges are soft and how they form from dark to light. I love the drama.
